The refurbishment of this three-room apartment for a young couple in the heart of Bratislava is a wonderful example of light, modern and luxurious trends in urban design.
The smell of new wood entwines with the playful elements of the composition, the exposed architectural bones and the trendy touches. Shining black metro tiles clad bathrooms that are framed in clear-glass- inside windows. Stripes of custom made wooden fixtures alternate with the red brick rawness of the architectural foundation of the apartment. It looks like the reconstruction’s primary focus was on building alterations, which highlight the materiality of the historic buildings and the realization of new, specially made carpentry components.
