Mercedes-Benz is exploring the world of two-wheelers once again, this time joining forces with N+ Bikes they have introduced the EQ Formula E Team eBike. This unique eBike uses pedal assist technology which senses the torque or power input of the rider and seamlessly matches it with electric motor assistance – as you pedal harder, the power-assist performs faster.
Weighing only 17kg, this is not the smallest e bike, but is comes with the power unit and battery in the centre of the bike delivering 50/50 weight distribution. The 36v/7ah Panasonic battery pack and related wiring are all stored within the seat tube. It produces a 32km/h top speed (limited to 25km in some countries) and range of 60-100kms.
Other notable bike design features included, a 6061 Alluminum hand polished frame, carbon fork, Gates Cdx crankset, Tektro R290 Hydraulic Discbrakes and Sturmey Archer five-speed drivetrain.
Priced at $3,200 is available N+’s website and your local Mercedes-Benz dealer worldwide. So, it could be one of the most expensive bikes in the world.
