Chairs inspired by human basins, a table leg in the shape of a spine… Welcome to the crazy world of designers Daishi Luo and Zhipeng Tan from Mán-Mán Studio. The two artists manipulate copper and brass to design spinal chairs, pool seats and other tables that mimic the structure of the human body. The duo explains that their frequent use of copper is partly “due to the charm of the material”.
“Copper is alive, its plasticity is very high, and this is not what we always see.” Each structural piece is made in limited production, the duo wishing to work more in a process of craftsmanship than fast consumption.
