CJ Hendry is an Australian artist that uses flowers as her muse. CJ has always been drawn to the soft, silky petals of peonies, roses, and tulips. CJ’s new series of hyperrealistic drawings show these delicate flowers in a whole new light. CJ starts withdrawing each flower individually and then puts them all together into one piece. CJ uses pencils for this process and emphasizes their thin layers and sticky inner organs to give the depth and dimension of the painting. The end results are stunning! Hendry currently lives in Brooklyn and completing similar botanical pieces for an upcoming show at the Mile End exhibition. Follow her on Instagram and keep your eyes peeled for limited-edition releases.
