Modern urban asceticism with luxurious organic textures and artistic, unusual shapes. In Bratislava, Slovakia, this contemporary home design is located in iconic Panorama Towers and offers a great urban view towards the city below. The Martin Skoček design team utilized quite cleverly this high location, panoramic light, and view and used unusual decor solutions to deal with the irregular shapes of the apartment’s layout. Just check out the fantastic little triangle that forms the cute terrace space where small woven round chairs, beautiful plants, and wooden planks (in the signature gray coloring typical for the whole project) create a nice relaxing corner in the open air above the city.

This accentuation of the unusual corners and shapes of the floor plan is a great signature touch for the décor project. The main living area is an open plan of dynamic lifestyle arrangements, a huge projector wall in front of the soft sitting area, and a trendy kitchen bar suitable for diner and cocktail parties. Those urban-lifestyle design compositions are supplemented by comfy corners for working or relaxing with a book stand of the panoramic windows. Rich organic textures and textiles are perfectly at home with the contemporary shapes and monochrome color palette.

The asceticism of the robust lines and minimal color palette – mainly shades of gray and beige- is compensated by the luxury of the materials used – trendy brass fixtures, amazing granite surfaces with terrazzo patterns, blond wood, and linen textures. Trendy and fashionable lamps and fixture designs give this additional modern urban edge characteristic for the whole design. The unusual corridors and shapes of spaces- including the luxurious if small bathroom – are cleverly utilized by the design team without compromising with the functionality and elegant, unique feel of the space. The bedroom uses an unusual textural solution of a woven textile that clad the headboard and the floor in a continuous textural pattern, which creates a cozy, comfortable nest for the master bed. This project teaches us that it can be surprising how rich and comfy the minimalism of gray and beige palette can be.
