This old commercial building in Terrassa, Spain has gone under amazing transformation performed by Egue & Seta and has become a paradise flooded with warm light, caramel wood, inside gardens and luxuriate vegetation. The designers have tried to escape from the traditional concept of wall separation and instead have used glass, massive wooden surfaces, inside gardens and different architectural levels to create the differentiation of areas. The bamboo has a special place in the interior – not only as a plant that grows in front the spacious windows and filters the light but also as a material for the furnishing of the loft.
The kitchen and dining area is particularly eye catching by its frontal position and fusion between industrial and warm county – house styles. The exposed piping and brick walls, polished concrete floor and chrome appliances combined with ash gray ceiling may become too industrial if not cleverly balanced by the magnificent wooden boards of the countertop and dinner table. In front this modern space, with its hanging Edison bulbs, there is a nest – like sitting formation that it’s differentiated by the rest of the living quarters by sinking into the building foundation and equipped by U-shaped sofa. The color of the sofa corresponds nicely with the surrounding grayish tonality of the floor, ceiling and furnishing, but it has its one vivid identity thanks to the artistic presents of handmade cushions and the wooden floor and stairs.
In the rest of the house, in bathroom and bedroom areas, a concrete solution for floors and ceiling abate the dominion to wood and timber that corresponds naturally with the fresh green plants and carries warm and cozy sensation into those privet quarters.
