The project of architect Andrey Samonaev started from an ideal point of view: an empty volume without any dividing walls located in a residential complex immersed in the greenery of the Pestovo Golf Club of Moscow. The focal point of the bright apartment, being part of an extensive residential complex, is the kitchen-living area, designed to create a sophisticated atmosphere that still evokes the colors and atmosphere of country living.
For this reason, all the decisions on the furnishings were taken in order to create a mood that blends warm and natural finishes with more hi-tech surfaces, especially in the Forma kitchen by Comprex, which contrasts cupboards in the soft tones of sanded oak veneer to the glossy mist – coloured lacquer of the bases and the overhanging cabinets. In the apartment, the home of a couple with a small child, a lot of storage space was required: that’s why the cabinets were made-to-measure to make use of all the space up to the ceiling.
Cupboards and overhanging cupboards, the latter wholly lacquered, including the underside, create an interesting interplay of spaces and volumes. The wall above the work surface is in the dark reflecting glass to give the composition greater depth. The opening system provided for this kitchen is the push-pull type for the cupboards, functional handles with clean lines for the columns and groove handles in the bases.
The kitchen has a fully-equipped, made-to-measure counter that also acts as a niche to accommodate the large sofa, creating an imaginary barrier between the day and night zones. The table and the lighting play on the transparency of the glass facing the large window that overlooks the park. Architect: Andrey Samonaev; Photo: Boris Bochkarev; Kitchen: Forma by Comprex
