The new products presented at Salone del Mobile 2018 enrich Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH collection with new and creative interpretations, reconfirming the company’s dedication to design research. New fascinating chapters are enhancing with a contemporary touch the history of the brand, the first to mark the passage from artisanal craft to industrial production.
Expressions of the most cutting-edge design language, the latest designs by GTV are the results of a collaboration with some of the most sought-after international talents on the design scene.
The various designers carried out a personal reinterpretation of the brand’s most iconic pieces: designs characterized by contemporary lines and forms expanding and completing GTV’s collection thanks to a refined stylistic vision.
This year, the brand’s meticulous research finds its full expression in the projects proposed by Cristina Celestino and Chiara Andreatti, who designed respectively the CARYLLON tables and the LOÏE lounge chair. A story of feminine grace using two distinctively different #design approaches that give life to fascinating reinterpretations of the brand’s consolidated manufacturing culture, where the wood-curving techniques, GTV signature element, remain the key protagonist.
Moreover, the ongoing collaborations with the Italo-Danish duo GamFratesi resulted in a new modular sofa for the iconic Targa upholstery collection; Philippe Nigro designed the new Promenade lounge chair and the Promenade High-Size installation for the FuoriSalone exhibition, and the Argentinian designer Cristian Mohaded, who has created the new Winer Box collection of tables.
