Modern home in Sidney, Australia, establishes a free and open connection between elegant interior and nature-inspired courtyards and gardens. This type of fluidity and blurred borders between interior and exterior are quite popular with modern architects, designers, and homeowners.
A large sunken courtyard is cut into the escarpment at the rear of the dwelling, providing a meditative and calming outlook from adjoining spaces, a juxtaposition to the site’s expansive and sometimes extreme primary aspect.
The organic influence in this contemporary project by CHROFI can be felt in the selection of materials composing the elegant interior composition as well. Ash-colored wooden planks enclose the walls not only of the interior premises but also of the surrounding gardens and courtyards – thus strengthening the visual sensation of unity between in and out.
The interior composition of the house’s social zones’ open floor plan offers an entwinement of 70’s mid-century- modern furniture inspiration and contemporary search for purity and minimalism in the living environment. Wood and leather upholsteries create a warm accent in the open spaciousness of the premises; minimal furnishing for comfortable life arrangement and entwinement of gray-ash wood and polished concrete gives a cool base to the décor composition.
